Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how JHB Web Studio LLC, doing business as JoyMeetsTaste (“JoyMeetsTaste,” “JMT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles personal information through JoyMeetsTaste websites, accounts, restaurant storefronts, online and POS ordering, QR payment experiences, digital receipts, and restaurant operational tools. It applies to all restaurants and customers using the Platform.

Restaurants use JoyMeetsTaste to operate their own storefronts and fulfill orders. The restaurant identified in an ordering experience may separately control information it receives for its menu, customer service, order preparation, and fulfillment.

• name, email address, phone number, and account details;
• order details, items, notes, fulfillment information, status, and the restaurant associated with the order;
• communication preferences, including separate email-marketing choices and transactional SMS consent evidence;
• payment and refund metadata such as amount, status, provider identifiers, card brand, and last four digits when provided by the payment processor;
• browser, device, cookie, session, request, security, audit, and operational-log information; and
• support requests and other information you choose to provide.
• receipt destinations, delivery requests and consent evidence, itemized receipt snapshots, delivery status, and access-token validation records;
• restaurant profile details and logos; authorized operational records such as employee identifiers and time-clock entries, tips, cash drawer counts, closeout reports, corrections, and administrator audit activity.

We receive information from you, the restaurant whose storefront or services you use, account and payment providers, service providers, and records created while securing and operating the service.

• provide, secure, and support customer and restaurant accounts;
• build, process, fulfill, track, and support orders;
• process payments, refunds, reconciliation, and fraud prevention;
• send account or order communications, including optional transactional texts when the customer affirmatively consents;
• remember cart, confirmation, authentication, and session state;
• provide restaurant operations and authorized reporting;
• generate, print, and deliver requested receipts and reconcile offline POS records;
• maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot the service; and
• comply with law and enforce applicable agreements.

Transactional SMS consent is optional, unchecked by default, and specific to order updates from the identified restaurant, powered by JoyMeetsTaste. Messages may include confirmation, preparation, pickup, and delivery updates. Frequency varies with order activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Email and text receipt delivery are separately requested. Receipt text consent covers the requested receipt from the identified restaurant, not marketing enrollment. Providing a telephone number for an order alone does not constitute consent to automated texts. Declining text consent does not prevent payment. A delivery request may retain a protected destination identifier and consent evidence for deduplication and audit; this does not mean all contact information in order or account records is deleted.

We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent records with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may provide the minimum necessary mobile information to the restaurant for the related order and to vendors that deliver or support the requested messages on our behalf. Those parties may use it only to provide the service, maintain security, comply with law, or respond to the customer's request. SMS opt-in data is not used for unrelated marketing.

We may disclose information as reasonably necessary to:

• the restaurant associated with your storefront, account, or order;
• providers supporting hosting, databases, authentication, payments, communications, delivery, customer support, security, and operations;
• professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement, courts, or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety;
• a successor in a merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer, subject to applicable legal requirements.

We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Mobile information and SMS consent remain subject to the stricter limitations in Section 5.

Payment processors handle full payment credentials. JoyMeetsTaste does not store complete card numbers or security codes in its application database, but it may retain transaction metadata needed for support, reconciliation, disputes, and refunds.

We use cookies and browser storage for authentication, security, restaurant-scoped sessions, shopping carts, order confirmations, and similar service functions. Disabling required storage may prevent these features from working.

POS devices may retain store-scoped operational data locally for offline use and synchronize when reconnected. Restaurants should restrict access to shared devices and authorized staff accounts. Restaurants are responsible for appropriate notices and authority when providing staff or customer data.

Requested digital receipts may be accessed through expiring, unguessable links. Anyone holding a valid link may view its receipt, so do not post or forward it publicly. Expiration ends link access, not retention of the underlying transaction or audit records. Restaurant logos are public branding reused on storefronts and receipts; earlier receipt snapshots may keep the branding used when they were created.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including restaurant operations, accounting, dispute handling, security, legal obligations, and enforcement. The period varies with the record and applicable requirements.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the information we handle. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information and to appeal a denied request. Applicable exceptions may allow us to retain certain records, including transaction, security, fraud-prevention, and legal records.

Email info@jhbwebstudio.com to submit a privacy request. We may verify your identity and authority before responding. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information may contact us to request review and deletion.

We may update this Policy by posting a revised version with a new effective date. We will provide additional notice of material changes when required by law.
